The Super Bowl was a lot of fun, even though I didn't really watch much. Ross, Nigel, and I went down to Kaysville and went to church with my family. It was really great to spend the day with my brother, Matt, who Nigel has only seen a couple of times. Nigel loves his uncles.
I watched the beginning of the game, then went to a Bredthauer family party. Ross and Matt stayed home to watch the game. They were both cheering for the Broncos. The rest of us were cheering for Seattle because my sister, Sarah, now lives near there with her family so it was nice to cheer for a team close to her.
After the family party, where Nigel showed off for my relatives, we came back to watch the end of the game. But really we just ended up watching Nigel who was hilariously throwing himself onto the love sac. Also, Nigel found a sombrero. Naturally, he had to wear it. It was hilarious. It was hard to get a good picture of him in it because he kept running around. Nigel doesn't like to hold still.
It was a lot of fun to spend the day with my family. Nigel really likes hanging out with his grandparents and other extended family members.
On Monday, Nigel and I were able to go out to eat with my mother and father-in-law and Lark, my sister-in-law. Nigel had a lot of fun with them. I don't know that they could tell, but he was really happy to spend time with his other grandma and grandpa. And he always loves to spend time with his aunt Lark, because she is awesome.
Tuesday night I was pretty busy. I went to the library to get some more books to read, then went to a church meeting, then went grocery shopping. It was great that Ross was home to get Nigel all bathed and in bed. I always check on Nigel before I go to bed, and that night was no different. I put a blanket over Nigel, he likes to wiggle out of the blankets before he goes to sleep and then is really cold when I get to him in the morning. But I thought Nigel's hair looked a little funny. It was really dark in the room, because I didn't want to wake him up, so I figured it was just the lack of light that made his hair look weird. I was wrong.
Wednesday morning Ross got up with Nigel and I got to sleep in a little bit. It was really nice. Then Ross and Nigel came to wake me up before Ross left for school. Nigel was so happy to see me and I thought his hair was weird again. I was half awake, and it took me a while to figure out what was going on. Ross said goodbye and left when I realized the problem. Ross had shaved a mohawk on Nigel's head. I jumped out of bed and ran to the door and threw it open, but Ross was already gone. That sly man.
I was really upset about Nigel's hair. I left it that way yesterday, because I wasn't really sure what to do about it. It is winter. And winter is very cold in Logan, UT. I am still very worried about his little head getting cold. Here is a better picture that I got of Nigel's hair a little later in the day. I really just wanted to cry every time I saw it. I sent a picture to his Uncle Matt, and he loved it. Matt is a little crazy like that.
This morning I shaved off the mohawk. It just had to go. I was tearing up shaving it off, now he's a little baldy. Well, it's cut at 1/16 of an inch. So he isn't completely bald, but it still makes me sad. I love my boy's hair. Ross said I need to paint a blue arrow on Nigel's head and have him be the next Avatar. I shot that down pretty quick. Here's a picture of my adorable little bald boy. I sure hope his hair grows quickly...
Nigel is cute no matter what his hair looks like! Look at those eyes and that cute little face!
