Baby Names: Live Action Heroes

The poll from the last two weeks was quite skewed thanks to Andrew and Ross. I'm sure they will be sad to hear, but I counted only one of their votes each which brought Johann Heinrich down to only 2 votes. Thus, the winner of the last poll was Henry. My grandpa would be so proud. :) This next baby name poll will feature live action characters and it will be awesome. I have been really excited for this one and I hope the voting goes well! Again, please note that there are a couple of names on this list Ross and I are actually considering, so let's see how they turn out! Names are in alphabetical order.

1. Anakin
The young padawan learner to Obi Wan Kenobi. Anakin Skywalker is a very talented young man. He has wicked amazing lightsaber skills, too. Although I'm sure it can be argued whether he should be considered a 'hero,' he did in the end bring balance to the force. And he destroyed the sith. Which is pretty much awesome. So he rocks pretty hard core.

2. Bruce Wayne
Also known as Batman. Which, if you put an E in the middle, you will get the kid's last name. If we name our son Bruce, his middle name will have to be Wayne because it would just be spectacular that way. Batman is a pretty awesome hero. He is not a super hero because he has no super powers, but he is pretty kick butt awesome.

3. Chandler
To quote Joey Tribiani: "Hey, look! I'm Chandler! Could I BE wearing any more clothes?" I freaking love Chandler Bing. He is my favorite character from the tv show, Friends. He's super hilarious and is always cracking jokes. I hope my son has a great sense of humor, which he will since I'm his mom. I would be proud to name a son after Chandler Bing.

4. Dwight
Everyone who has seen the Office knows Dwight Shrute. He has a beet farm and does pretty well for himself. He always has the top sales at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Although he is kind of ridiculous and nerdy, he's awesome. He definitely knows the value of hard work, which is a value everyone should have.

5. Ferris
"Bueller... Bueller... Bueller... Bueller..." Yes, Ross made me put this name on this particular list. I suppose Ferris itself isn't too bad of a name. Ferris Bueller is a young man determined to take a day off of school pretending to be sick. In reality, he goes off with his friends and watches a baseball game, sees a parade, sings and dances on top of a float in said parade, and ruins his buddy's father's super nice car. He apparently knows how to accomplish a lot in a day.

6. Legolas
This attractive elf is kick butt amazing. He is amazingly skilled with his bow. I absolutely love Lord of the Rings and Legolas is one of my favorite characters. He is wise, dedicated, friendly, and even humorous at times. If my son could learn to use a bow and arrows as good as this elf, I would be super the proudest mom in the world. Of course, whatever my son is good at I will be proud of. :)

7. Shawn Spencer
What do you get when you meet a fake psychic detective? Shawn Spencer, that's who. From the tv show, Psych, which Ross absolutely loves, this guy is hilarious. Shawn is very sarcastic, immature, and even rude at times; but he is also very intelligent, observant, and dedicated to the people he loves. He's a pretty funny guy. Ross says that if we name a son Shawn, his middle name would have to be Spencer.

8. Sherlock
The super intelligent genius of a man, Sherlock Holmes, is pretty hard core. I really love the Sherlock Holmes movies with Robert Downy Jr. Although Sherlock is a little awkward and anti-social, he is ridiculously smart. He uses his amazing intellect to solve mysteries and put bad guys where they belong. Woot woot. I hope my son is really smart!

9. Thor
The Norse God of Thunder. That would be Thor. It's just a pretty hard core manly name that would be fitting for my son. Thor was banished to our planet for rebelling against his father, Odin. But there he met s hot chick and fell in love and then redeemed himself by saving the humans. Something like that. Oh, and his weapon is a huge hammer, random, but also pretty intense. I wasn't really that impressed with the movie to be honest, but the name sure would be cool for my boy. :)

10. Tony
Iron Man, who is like unto Batman in that he has no super powers. But you get him in that hard core super suit, and Tony Stark becomes a pretty rockin' hero. He is a super genius when it comes to math, science, and engineering stuff. (What's with Robert Downy Jr. playing all these super smart guys?) He used to be a super cocky dude that didn't care about anyone or anything until he was a Prisoner of War and decided to change his life around. What a good guy.

And there you have it! A wonderful list of names! Yes, indeed. :) Please vote in the poll on the right. Voting will end on Saturday the 10th of March at 11:59 PM. So make sure you vote by then!

Almost 32 Weeks

Once Sunday comes, I will be starting the 8th month of my pregnancy. Holy cow pie. That's some pretty crazy stuff if you ask me. Here's a picture of my on the 31 week mark, which would have been Sunday the 12th of February. The dress I'm wearing was a birthday gift from my parentals. A maternity dress. Woot! What a chunker I have become. I am very thankful for the pregnancy support belt I got for my birthday from Sarah. I wear it a whole lot and it really helps with the lack of comfort I get from this pregnancy. My back gets really sore and now my abdomen has begun to get sore. My doctor said the best way to help that is to wear a support belt. so it is a good thing I have one. Thanks, Sarah!

Cheater Faces

My dear brother-in-law, Andrew Fassmann, explained to me about a week and a half ago that if you use a different web browser, you can vote multiple times in my polls. That cheater face! He's been rigging my polls to get the name he wants to win!!! And now Ross has taken to this as well. Both he and Andrew have voted many many times for Johann Heinrich. not that this is a bad name, it just skews the voting of everyone else. But I guess that is ok. I will just have to get over it. Ross says that he is doing it to show that a poll doesn't matter. What a party pooper.

Baby Names: Family Names

So thanks to a vigorous poll the last two weeks, the winner ended up being Flynn, as in Flynn Rider. Good stuff. I meant to do this post yesterday, but the internet Ross and I use has switched to a secure internet. So I guess we don't get internet at our apartment anymore, which sucks greatly.
The list of baby names for this next two weeks are names from both my ancestors as well as Ross's. Some of these names are ideas for first names, and others are ideas for middle names. Again, we won't say which ones we are actually thinking of, just to make it interesting. Unfortunately, we don't have pictures for this poll, so I didn't write too much info since that can get boring. But please vote for your favorite name in the poll on the right and we will see which name wins! The poll will end on the 25th of February.

1. Alfred
This name comes from Ross's paternal side. So one of his grandpas somewhere back in his lineage.
2. Ben
This is the name of Ross's paternal grandfather. Technically his name was Norman and his middle name was Bennion, but everyone called him Ben, so that's the name for the poll. Ben is also Ross's middle name.
3. Charles
This would be my very own maternal grandfather. He's a pretty awesome guy who plays tennis and takes great care of my grandma. He rocks.
4. Ernst
This relative comes from a little ways back on my paternal side. Go Bredthauers!
5. Francis
We were pleased to find a Francis on Ross's maternal side, since my family all calls the little baby Francis. Originally that was because it could be a boy name or a girl name, but now it is just what they all call him.
6. Henry
This would be my grandpa Bredthauer. He was a pretty amazing man. And definitely a hard core German as well.
7. Horace
This wonderful name comes from my maternal side. And Ross and I thought it was pretty cool, so it had to make the list. It also reminded us of 101 Dalmatians. And that is just fine with us.
8. Johann Heinrich
This was a pretty awesome name found on my paternal side. We went back quite a few generations, and then all of the males on the far right of the page were named Johann Heinrich. Same spelling and everything. Of course, their last names were all different. Only one of them was Bredthauer. But it was still awesome.
9. Lester
This would be the name of Ross's maternal grandpa. He lived in Pennsylvania. Woot.
10. Marvin
This awesome name comes from Ross's paternal side. It reminded us of Marvin the Martian. Who is awesome. So this relative must also have been pretty darn awesome.

So there you go! Ten new names listed alphabetically for your voting. :)

My Poor Minion

So two weeks ago I got a cute little fish from PetsMart. And it was awesome. His name was Minion. Unfortunately, he died last night. At least I can still return him. They give you two weeks if it dies to return it. And today was my last day to do it. I was so excited, thinking I would make it past two weeks. Then I woke up this morning and he was dead. So sad. So now I'm trying to decide if I want to get another fish. Maybe I will get one that is a little more hardy. We shall see.
On another note, I am now 30 weeks along in my pregnancy! That means only 10 weeks left! That is kind of scary, but also very exciting. I do hope the baby is healthy! That's pretty much my most major concern for the little guy. He's not even here yet and I worry about his health. Man, I'm gonna be such a worrier of a mom. I already worry about everything. And now I get another thing to worry over. I hope I don't go crazy. that would be no good at all.

Contractions

The past three days I have experienced the first of my contractions. I have had one a day. They aren't painful at all, just surprising. It's like out of nowhere my whole abdomen gets really tight as though my muscles are contracting, but I'm not aware of telling them to contract. So there ya go. That would be my pregnant body starting to practice contractions for the real thing. And that is kind of exciting!
ya, my baby is due in two months and ten days-ish. That's not very long at all. I'm really getting anxious for the little guy to arrive! I hope he is as cute as I imagine him being. :)
